Gruppo Federtrasporti, in collaboration with MEP Elisabetta Gualmini, has the pleasure to invite you to attend to the presentation of the photographic book “Essential People: when the pandemic transformed the trucker into a beautiful person” a passionate and documented journey within the logistic and road transport sector during the COVID-19 pandemic crisis, when the whole Europe recognized for the first-time that transport is an essential service, and women and men are at the core of all economic activities.
The documentary book is focused on people, drivers, and the way they have faced with all difficulties and the challanges of the pandemic crisis restrictions.
The brief presentation of the book, with the most significant pictures on a video slides show, will be followed by a round table on the topic "The human capital in road transport: social sustainability and human-centric approach" with participants from EC DG MOVE, EP TRAN committee, transport and trade unions organisations.
The debate will develop on the importance of human dimension in transport and logistic sector. The discussion will touch on very sensitive themes for the sector, such as: shortage of drivers, making more attractive the profession also for women, safe parking and comfortable resting areas, waiting/downtimes and their costs (, uploading/downloading), safety, traffic and ;
