Tackling food fraud

further developments in analytical techniques to ensure the integrity of food

Ensuring the integrity and authenticity of raw materials and food ingredients is a key part of BRC Global Food Safety Standard 7 and retailer codes of practice. Consequently, companies are undertaking vulnerability assessments and identifying materials that are ‘at risk’.

There remains significant interest in the analytical techniques to detect and help resolve supply chain issues. This seminar will cover advances in genomic, proteomic and metabolomic approaches. It will give an insight into the pros and cons of targeted and non–targeted methods and provide information on rapid methods suitable for uptake by industry. There will be key presenters from UK and European research groups, industry and technology companies.
