SusChem was launched in July 2004 as one of the first European Technology Platforms: a European Commission supported initiative to create industry-led stakeholder fora to define research and innovation priorities in a number of areas.SusChem was founded by six European bodies that represented the main stakeholders from academia and industry in the sector. The European Commission has provided financial and consultative support.
