As part of the PermaModule Project, the 2022 “Permaculture and Sustainable Agricultural Systems” Conference will introduce permaculture as a set of principles that integrates land, resources, people and the environment through mutually beneficial ;It has gained increased visibility in light of a growing environmental threat and deterioration of ecosystems.
Permaculture is indeed a good alternative to intensive conventional agriculture, which generally results in high productivity at the expense of biodiversity.
Fostering the implementation of permaculture principles at a wider level would have significant environmental benefits as it would participate in a more sustainable management of land, therefore addressing societal and environmental ;
The Conference will:
Discuss Permaculture and Regenerative agriculture as alternative production pathways and business model towards sustainable agricultural systems
Explore the role of permaculture in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals
Introduce and present the PermaModule Project (Erasmus+) and provide practical examples of universities’ adoption of the PermaModule Project
