This workshop will review the current status of the debate on the proposed EU Cross-Border Mechanism (ECBM) and its relevance for cross-border collaboration in emergency medicine and public safety. Cross-border collaboration of health services and public safety is still hampered by legal and administrative barriers and bureaucratic procedures. The proposed ECBM is intended to resolve such obstacles and to allow for easier regional collaboration.
