International Biogas Study Tour with focus on various AD-plant concepts

IBBK Fachgruppe Biogas offers a 4-day study tour. The tour will lead you to several plant operators and biogas companies in Germany. The excursion starts in Berlin and ends in Stuttgart - Hohenheim.

The participants of the tour will get in contact with planners of biogas plants, components manufacturers and biogas plant operators as well as biogas plants with new or ground-breaking concepts or technology in Germany.The tour will cover the following topics:Visit of a plug flow digester built by Strabag with an annual throughput of 60.000 tons of municipal biowastes. Dry/liquid separation of the digestate, gas utilisation as fuel for the own transport fleet.Visit of a 625 kW plug flow digester built by Bekon and fed with solid manure, grass and maize silage.Visit of a 250 kW AD plant fed with chicken and pig manure and grass / maize silage. The surplus warmth heats a greenhouse where organic vegetables are grown year-round.Visit of a 1250 kW UTS AD-plant fed with pig and chicken manure. The GmbH is a consortium of five different business divisions i.e. pig breeding and fattening.Visit of a communal biowaste plant. A 1,6 MW dry and wet fermentation plant built by Eggersmann and FITEC GmbH & Co.KG.Visit of a 223 kW agricultural co-digestion plant built by Schmack in 2000. The main substrates are chicken and pig manure and energy crops.Visit of a 420 kW agricultural biogas plant with gas purification and gas feed-in into the municipal gas grid in cooperation with EnBW. With this biogas the heat demand of 1000 households per year is covered.Visit of a 450 kW agricultural biogas plant near Schwäbisch Hall digesting meadow grass, solid manure and agroindustrial wastes. The heat is used for digestate drying.The Biogas Study Tour will be conducted in English/Germanand includes sight seeing and cultural aspects.(Program may be subject to change.)Due to organizatory reasons a limmited number of participants is accepted.
