The new Regulation (EU) 1169/2011 on the provision of food information to consumers recently entered into force and established important rules, requirements and responsibilities governing food information, and in particular food labelling. In order to ensure a proper compliance and implementation, practitioners are required to quickly identify and solve any possible challenges. During the seminar on the New Food Information Regulation – taking place on Monday, 18 June 2012, in Brussels – participants will receive key insights on the application of this new regulation and learn more about the perspectives of the food industry. In order to allow an insight into the topic from various angles we count on experts from the European Commission, the industry and private legal practice.Within four hours (1.30-5.15pm) four reputable speakers will touch upon issues such as background and purpose of the regulation as well as current plans for delegated and implementing acts, the food industry’s perception and problems – i.e. areas of uncertainty and proposals for practical interpretations –, labelling pursuant to the new regulation and practical examples of new labelling.Participants will find out how to deal with the challenges the new regulation causes in their business and meet other professionals facing similar challenges. They will also enjoy a great networking opportunity.
