The Change Collective has teamed up with Noh Budget Films and Pindrop Theatre – 2 of the leading training providers of the techniques of Theatre of the Oppressed (Boal) for practitioners - to deliver this Autumns Change-X-Change.Forum Theatre is a unique and wonderfully effective medium for engaging community groups in solution-focused dialogue about some of the issues that affect them. A typicalForum Theatre piece would present a story similar to the actual experiences of the community and focus on a particular difficulty they face. The community audience is invited to stop the performance and attempt to change the course of action and work towards resolving the situation.During this weeklong training you’ll experience a range of techniques from Boal’s Theatre of the Oppressed. Storytelling, image theatre, performance and facilitation will be used to explore social issues and generate material forperformance. You will then be guided through a process of group devising to create your very own Forum Theatre piece that you will perform to a live audience.Book before 1st March and receive a £10 Early Bird discount!Dates:18th – 23rd March 2012: 10.00am – 4.30pm, with an evening performance for the residents of St. Mungo’s on 22nd March.Course Fees: Concessions - £100 /Individuals – £150 / Organisations - £200.
