EIT Climate-KIC (Knowledge and Innovation Community) is the EU's largest public-private partnership that addresses the challenges posed by climate change through innovation. The EIT Climate-KIC community consists of more than 330 partners including companies, universities, public bodies and NGOs. EIT Climate KIC's goal is to help create a prosperous, inclusive and resilient society, built on a zero-emission circular economy. EIT Climate-KIC focuses on the levers of systemic change by supporting innovation in order to accelerate processes of decarbonisation (elimination of fossil fuels and negative carbon level) and adaptation and mitigation. EIT Climate-KIC, funded mainly by the European Institute for Innovation and Technology (EIT), a European Union body, operates as a platform that promotes innovation and technology as a catalyst for transformation. Climate-KIC Italy is the Italian branch of EIT Climate-KIC, present since 2010 with its headquarters in Bologna, at the CNR. It brings together over 35 partners with the aim of developing human capital in our country and seeking the potential for innovation for climate change mitigation and adaptation, in harmony with the aims and modus operandi of the wider European community of EIT Climate-KIC.
