The Insign Project is a one year pilot project, funded by the European Commission that aims to empower deaf and hard of hearing (HoH) citizens to communicate with their European political representatives and public administrations.The goal is to develop a concept for a web-based service platform that can be used by any deaf or hard of hearing citizen within the EU that will guarantee full accessibility, taking into account national sign languages and also text captioning (real-time text communication).Lead by EUD (The European Union of the Deaf) a Consortium of different organisations is working on this Insign pilot project, ensuring amongst other aspects, Academic Research, Sustainability and Operational Free Software.
