The conference will be an excellent opportunity to discuss, share experiences and learn from experts and practitioners on how to improve cities’ resilience to climate change. The conference is aimed at city leaders, practitioners and experts working on adaptation to climate change.
Speakers from a dozen cities across Europe (Bologna, Florence, Helsinki, Lisbon, Malmo, Rotterdam, Stuttgart, Thessaloniki and Turku) will share their experiences, lessons learned and views on future challenges.
Together with representatives from the European Commission, the European Investment Bank, academia and industry, city leaders and practitioners will have the opportunity to exchange and discuss what works well and what needs to be improved in planning and managing climate change adaptation at municipal level.
The conference will take stock of current challenges, examine the latest technological tools for understanding changes to weather patterns, feature a strategic discussion on the role of strategies and investment projects in cities, and discuss innovative ways of financing adaptation projects and programmes, including through the mobilization of EU funds in the period 2021-2027 and co-financing from EIB and other financial institutions.
