The Representation of the Free State of Bavaria to the EU is hosting the 2nd Bavarian Natura 2000 Summit. This event, organised as part of the ‘LIFE living Natura 2000’ project, aims to promote the Natura 2000 sites in the region and to foster collaboration between EU and Bavaria policymakers, along with key political representatives and regional experts. On 8 November, the evening reception will feature ceremonial speeches by high-ranking political representatives of the EU and Bavaria, a panel discussion with the Natura 2000 ambassadors, Dr Auguste von Bayern (ornithologist), Pia Amofa-Antwi (actor) and Alexander Huber (mountaineer). Attendees can also enjoy a buffet with culinary delights from Bavaria and Bavarian music. On 9 November, the summit will continue with further panel discussions, presentations and two poster exhibition circuit sessions centred around ‘Natura 2000 in the EU’. Notably, Barbara Geiger will also present the LIFE helle Eifel-Valleys project focusing on the topic: ’Follen Brehm’s Life of Animals Lycaena helle- The Violet Copper’.
