Public Debate and Reception: "Understanding the Security Challenges of AI"

The event provides a concise overview of AI and relevant security challenges for governments and businesses in the fields of data protection, cybersecurity, law, business, society and international politics.

Significant advances in artificial intelligence (AI) and the growing integration of AI into the operations of governments and businesses over the past decade have led to many debates about the potential social, economic, and security impact of ;AI has created new and unprecedented opportunities to address various challenges, but it is also raising concerns about international, national, social and human ;Our increasing use of this technology in our critical infrastructure and systems thus requires a rethinking of security in various fields of expertise.

Please join academics from various universities and policy experts from EU institutions, Permanent Representations, and NATO for a Public Debate and a reception, to discuss what AI means for security in data protection, cybersecurity, law, business, society, public policy, and international politics.

This event is organized by the Rhine-Main Universities. AI is the theme of the Science Year 2019 of the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research, which supports the event with the Representation of the State of Hessen to the EU.
