8th European Conference on Personal and Household Services

Innovation in Personal and Household Services

The 8th edition of the European Conference on personal and household services (PHS) is organised by EFSI in cooperation with the Consultative Commission on Industrial Change (CCMI) of the European Economic and Social Committee. It will take place on 29 January 2019 in Brussels.

The subject of this year’s conference conference will be the innovation in the PHS sector, including in its business models, working conditions, statistical issues and what policies can support best innovation in the sector. The results of a survey made by EFSI on PHS innovation will be presented and will feed into the debates throughout the day.

The first panel will discuss challenges and advantages of PHS innovation in the organization of work, services design, economic models and new technologies. At the second panel, the co-authors of the first PHS Industry Monitor will discuss issues and possible innovations of the current PHS-related statistical methods together with other experts. The third panel will focus on innovation in PHS working conditions with a focus on security and safety aspects. The discussions of this panel will feed in the EU-OSHA campaign on healthy workplaces 2018-2019 of whom EFSI is official partner. The last panel will wrap up the key points of the day and discuss with political representatives what role the EU can play in order to foster and support PHS innovation in Europe.
