PTSD: A WOMAN'S BATTLE IN CONFLICT ZONES
The Kashmir Council-EU is organising a conference to mark 2018 International Women's Day. The Conference will take place in the European Parliament with the support of MEPs Wajid Khan, Julie Ward and Sajjad Karim. The theme of the meeting will be: “PTSD: a woman’s battle in conflict zones”.
The aim of the Conference will be to explore the need for mental health counselling and therapy for women suffering from PTSD as a result of trauma (such as rape, abuse, etc.). Mental health disorders and psychosocial problems arising from conflict need to be addressed as part of post-conflict reconstruction and reconciliation efforts. Speakers will include senior academics, civil society activists and representatives of the European Institutions.
