EuCham - European Chamber, the Institute for Foreign Affairs and Trade (IFAT), and the Center for European Neighborhood Studies of CEU - Central European University are organizing an international conference regarding the possible impacts of the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) between the European Union and the United States of America on the small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) of Central Europe.
The aim is to provide a platform for a balanced professional discussion, therefore esteemed representatives of the diplomatic, business and academic communities are invited to participate in the panel discussions.
The first panel focuses mainly on the negotiations and content of TTIP, granting the opportunity to discuss the possible impacts on SMEs in general. The discussion will be moderated by Prof. Dr. Péter Balázs, former Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director of the Center for European Neighborhood Studies of the Central European University.
The second panel explores the question of what opportunities and challenges Central European SMEs may face concerning the TTIP and how they can prepare for the future agreement between the EU and the US. The moderator will be Prof. Dr. András Inotai from the Institute of World Economics and Regional Studies of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.
The international conference on TTIP will be opened and closed by the high-level representatives of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and Trade and by the Prime Minister's Office.
