The Spanish city of Gijón will host a local event of the Committee of the Regions with two citizen dialogues on European affairs on 21 September.  Representatives from different organizations will discuss with citizens different topics regarding the European Union and Cities.  Both dialogues aim to engage citizens and involve them to discuss about EU issues and be listened.

The first dialogue will be focused on Youth with topics regarding the EU for students and youth in general (Venue: Paraninfo, Laboral Ciudad de la Cultura). On the other hand, the second dialogue will be focused on citizenship in general and will deal with current topics regarding the EU (Venue, Salón de Actos del Centro de Cultura Antiguo Instituto, CCAI). Both dialogues will be moderated by local journalist.

The event is organized by Gijón City Council (European Affairs Department) in partnership with the Committee of the Regions and the Government of Asturias. Other partners are: European Commission representation in Spain; European Parliament’s information office; Oviedo University; Europe Direct Gijón; Europe Direct Asturias; Gijón’s Youth Council.
