Overview

On 25 May 2016 the new European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) entered into force and will apply from May 2018, after a two-year transitional period. The GDPR is a major overhaul of the EU data protection regulatory framework, imposing many new requirements. The short two-year period poses a challenge for both private enterprises and public authorities to become compliant. An early start is necessary to get familiar with the new rules and determine your organisation’s specific need for conversion, while at the same time keeping track of the changing national data protection laws.

In the seminar our experts will intensively examine topical issues with you, such as the future regulation of cross border data flows in light of the EU-US Privacy Shield and the GDPR, the new duties for data controllers in the public and private sectors and the new rules for data protection authorities. Each session will be followed by a discussion round, leaving ample time for sharing experiences and raising your individual questions.
