Leading Courageously

The seminar will be of interest to public officials and managers in agencies and institutions, who have a significant leadership role and wish to develop insight into their own leadership practice and to further extend their leadership capacity

Leading real change in public sector institutions requires resilience, innovation, and the willingness to address difficult issues, and to effectively manage resistance when it arises. As part of the programme, delegates will complete an online leadership diagnostic questionnaire in advance, and receive a confidential personalised leadership report as part of the programme.The programme will address topics such as the Art of Communication and Influence; Courageous Conversations; Resilience in Leadership; Understanding my Leadership Journey; Managing the Personal Adaptive Challenge; and Symbolic Leadership.The learning methodology will incorporate completion of a confidential online questionnaire prior to the programme, lectures, small coaching groups and practical exercises. Each delegate will get a confidential individual profile of their leadership ‘drivers’ during the programme. The programme will be challenging and requires a willingness to explore personal leadership styles and behaviours. Objectives1. To develop a greater understanding of individual characteristics and patterns of behaviour in exercising leadership2. Through a structured questionnaire and feedback, for each individual to identify the approaches that are most aligned with their leadership profile 3. To learn and practice key skills of leadership.
