In recent years the embedded community, through technical competence and an enduring exchange of knowledge and expertise, has proven they are laying the foundation for the breakthrough of new ideas.And now insular solutions are accumulating and amalgamating to create a worldwide network of autonomous embedded systems – the Internet of Things. In the history of mankind a greater technical construct never emerged, a network spanning the world that can contribute to the welfare of everyone.Such a network presents itself to us now, and because new technologies always entail risks, the actors on this stage must play their roles cleverly, with due responsibility and far-sightedness, correspond, compare and communicate.
