Prospects for EU - Iran relations

Following the nuclear deal there is considerable interest and speculation about the next steps in EU-Iran relations. The event is organised by Cambre Associates and EU-Asia Centre and hosted by the Brussels Press Club.

Prospects for EU - Iran relationsWe are delighted to invite you to a panel debate on the prospects for EU-Iran relations. Following the nuclear deal there is considerable interest and speculation about the next steps in EU-Iran relations. There have been many European delegations visiting Teheran seeking new business opportunities. But how stable is the political situation in Iran? What are the prospects for change including in human rights and the rule of law? How should the EU position itself vis-à-vis Iran? Could there be a bilateral agreement in the coming year, leading to deeper political, trade and people-to-people relations? Could the EU and Iran work together in regional security, including Syria? How does the US view Iran and what is the impact of the continuing US sanctions on European businesses? What are the priority sectors for European investment? And what are the risks? These are some of the questions that will be covered in the panel debate.Tuesday 15 December, 11:00 -12:30 am (Registration and coffee starting at 10:45)At the Brussels Press Club, 95 Rue Froissart - 1040 BrusselsFEATURING:Welcome by Leanda Barrington-Leach, Director of External Relations & International Trade, Cambre AssociatesPanel discussion moderated by Fraser Cameron, Director of the EU-Asia Centre and Senior Advisor at Cambre AssociatesHugo Sobral, Team Leader of the EEAS Iran Task ForceArnaldo Abruzzini, Secretary General of EUROCHAMBRESMatthew Oresman, Counsel at Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLPShahriar Sabet, Director PLBC Capital (London/Dubai)
