This workshop is aimed at business managers and regulatory specialists working in companies that import or supply articles – non-chemical finished goods and components – within the EU. It will also be of interest to importers and suppliers of substances and mixtures treated with biocidal products such as in-can preservatives. The EU Biocidal Products Regulation (BPR) entered into force on 1 September 2013. It introduced new measures which are having a significant impact on producers and importers of any products (substances, mixtures or articles) which may be treated with a biocidal product prior to supply – for example, to prevent microbial deterioration.Understanding and complying with these requirements can be particularly challenging for those who import such “treated articles”; especially as it is not necessarily straightforward to obtain the details of a treatment which has taken place outside the EU. This workshop will consider supply chain management strategies to help you meet your obligations.
