The fight against online child sexual abuse content has become an important part of EU child protection initiatives over the past years. Several of these initiatives have recognised the need for further international cooperation, not least the Global Alliance against Child Sexual Abuse Online which was launched in December 2012.But how are international institutions actually working to improve the fight against online child sexual abuse content on a global scale? Which policy initiatives exist at the various international levels, which obstacles remain and how can greater coordination be achieved? And how can cross-border cooperation be achieved on an operational level? What can be learned from the experiences and best practices of law enforcement agencies, hotlines and the online industry? The conference aims to provide an answer to these questions by bringing together stakeholders from different international organisations to discuss their approaches towards the fight against online child sexual abuse content.Panellists include speakers from the European Commission, the Council of Europe, the Commonwealth Telecommunications Organisation (CTO), the International Telecommunications Union (ITU), the UK and the South African Hotline, EUROPOL and Facebook. The panel discussions will be moderated by TV’s Kate Russell, technology reporter and author, and the closing statement will be provided by INHOPE, the International Association of Hotlines. The conference is hosted by MEP Emma McClarkin (ECR, UK) and organised with the support from Facebook. The conference will take place in English.
