Representatives of the publishing and broadcasting industry will explain why they are calling on the European Commission to resist pressure from Member States to water down Commission proposals to clarify guidelines on state aid to public service broadcasters. This is key for commercial media as state aid in the public sector is being used on new media platforms where public broadcasters are competing head on with the private sector and creating huge market distortions.
