Trained in clinical hematology & worked in an hematology intensive care and bone transplantation unit, then as a clinical consultant at the Besançon University hospital, France until 2009. Headed an immunogenetics laboratory from 1994 to 2004 before becoming director of the Bourgogne/ Franche-Comté Etablissement Français du Sang (EFS) régional blood establishment (2005-2009).After being Lecturer (1993), Professor of medicine (Immunology) since 1998 at the Université de Franche-Comté, teaching Immunology and Transfusion medicine, as well as head a Master degree since 2004.previously President of the Scientific council (2000-2004) and board member (1996-2008) of the French bone marrow transplantation and cell therapy professional society (SFGM-TC). I have been a member of the board of directors of the Agence de Biomédecine (French public agency overseing transplantation, assisted reproductive medicine and stem cell research, previously Etablissement Français des Greffes)(1999-2008).
From 2009 to 2017, was EFS Deputy CEO, head of Medicine and Research, as well as Qualified Person (responsible for safety and quality of the blood products produced by EFS). In 2017, was commissioned by the Director of Health (French Health Ministry) on the subject of transfusion medicine and safety. Since 2018 EFS senior advisor for european and international medical and scientific affairs.
Board member of the International Hemovigilance Network (IHN) and of SFTS, as well as senior scientist at BEST collaborative.
Since January 2020, President of the European Blood Alliance (EBA, an association of not for profit blood establishments in 26 countries of the European Union, United Kingdom or EFTA area).
