Prof. Tamin earned his doctoral degree in Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mechanics from University of Rhode Island, USA in 1997. He has been with the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering (FME), Universiti Teknologi Malysia (UTM) since 1984. He had his fair share of administrative positions as Head of the Applied Mechanics Department and Materials Engineering Department, and Director for UTM Center for Composites.
