Michael Lazarus is a Senior Scientist and is director of the U.S. Center, based in the Seattle office.
Michael’s research addresses climate change mitigation policy at local, national, and international levels. His current work ranges from carbon market design to the integration of national energy and climate policies. He designed and co-leads the SEI Initiative on fossil fuels and climate change.
Michael has over 25 years of professional experience in energy and environmental analysis and capacity building. He has worked throughout North America, Africa, Asia, Latin America, and Europe with support from government agencies, development banks, foundations, utilities, and non-profit groups.
