Luis Carretero Sanchez is legal and policy officer in the Sustainable chemicals unit, Directorate-General for Environment at the European Commission. He is in charge of the coordination of the circular economy files in the unit and of the interface between chemicals, waste and products legislation. Other files under his responsibility include legal aspects of the REACH, POPs and PIC Regulations, various actions under the Chemicals Strategy for Sustainability and the implementation of EU funding instruments as regards chemicals, including the Recovery and Resilience Facility. Previously, he worked in the legal units at DG Environment and in the advocacy department at PlasticsEurope.
