Jürgen Hummel graduated with a diplom (German equivalent of a M.Sc.) in mathematics and economics at Augsburg University, Germany, in 1995. He subsequently moved to the UK, where he has held different technical and managerial positions in Biostatistics, predominantly in the CRO environment. He joined PPD in 2006 in Bellshill near Glasgow, where he holds the position of senior director statistical science and heads up the statistical science track within PPD Biostatistics. Jürgen has been leading PPD’s cross-functional Adaptive Design Working Group since 2009, and he has been involved in designing and implementing several adaptive trials during that time, ranging from phase I to phase III. He is a chartered statistician and a member of the DIA Adaptive Design Scientific Working Group.
