• 1996-1999 : Special adviser on social policy of the Austrian Trade Union Federation (ÖGB)
• 1999-2008 : Head of the ÖGB's Europe Office in Brussels
• 01/2009-07/2009 : Head of ÖGB EU and International Department (on leave of absence since August 2009).
