Speaker

Dr David Tompkins

Bioresources Development Manager

Environment,

David is an expert on biowaste treatment and product quality, with a particular focus on product safety and suitability for use in agriculture and horticulture.  He heads the Bioresources’ team at Aqua Enviro, working on a range of projects that include: PAS110 support for AD facilities; Quality Management Systems’ support for composting facilities; digestate and compost risk assessment; nitrogen removal and recovery from digestate; phosphorus capture from wastewaters with mineral residues.

David often delivers presentations at AD and composting conferences to highlight the on-going mismatch between academic approaches to nutrient recovery within the circular economy and the economic realities.  He is a member of the REA’s ORG steering committee and CIWM’s BioSIG.  David was previously at WRAP, where he provided technical input to the most reviews of PAS100, PAS110 and the quality protocols.
