Professional experience
Clara Cotroneo (IT) joined EIPA Maastricht in 2019. She is a lecturer at EIPA Maastricht and at the European Centre for Judges and Lawyers – EIPA’s Centre in Luxembourg. In addition, Clara also coordinates the European Public Sector Award (EPSA). She has extensive experience in developing training activities in face-to-face, online and blended learning formats. Her teaching, research and consulting areas of expertise cover topics related to the area of Freedom, Security and Justice, including security, digitalization – and the intersection between the two, cross-border crime (including human trafficking and cybersecurity), judicial and police cooperation, migration and fundamental rights.
Before joining EIPA, Clara was Director of Programs at Vesalius College of Global Affairs (Free University of Brussels), had previously taught at the University of Bangor (Wales) and was a volunteer at the UN International Labour Organization (ILO). She is a certified cybersecurity analyst and is currently a PhD Researcher at Leiden University’s Institute of Security and Global Affairs. She also holds an Mphil in Psychology, a MA in Linguistics and a Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching in Higher Education. Clara is an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA) in the UK.
