Innovation – how to declare it right in grant applications

Many grants are innovation-based – and this is certainly the case for the prestigious EU grants: Horizon 2020 and ERC. This means that a successful and competitive proposal in the eyes of the reviewers must successfully convey that a novel project is at hand. Unfortunately, this is not such a straightforward and simple task.
