BEUcitizen is a 4-year multinational and multidisciplinary project financed by the European Commission that sets out to identify, investigate, discuss and ameliorate the barriers to the active use of EU citizenship rights (and knowledge of duties). Not only does this project provide for a comparative overview and classification of the various barriers to the exercise of the rights and obligations of EU citizens in the Member States and some candidate countries, but it also analyses whether and how such barriers can be overcome.
Furthermore, bEUcitizen looks into the future opportunities and challenges that the EU and its Member Stated face to further develop the idea and reality of EU citizenship.
