The Belgian Nuclear Research Centre is a foundation of public utility.

More than 600 employees realize a turnover of 95 M€.

Priority is given to research on Safety of Nuclear Installations, Radiation Protection, Safe Treatment and Disposal of Radioactive Waste, Education and Training.

We provide services and operate BR2; an MTR with a very high neutron flux, BR1; a graphite-gas research reactor, VENUS; a zero-power-critical-facility, several gamma irradiation facilities, a Laboratory for High and Medium Activity and Nuclear Analysis and Chemical Laboratories.

Through the EIG Euridice we run our Underground Research Laboratory HADES.

Worth mentioning are our European demonstration programme for PWR dismantling and MYRRHA; our design study of an accelerator driven System.
