Tracing (Dis)Trust in the Run Up to the European Elections: Adult and Youth Attitudes towards Governments and Institutions

This roundtable discussion will gather representatives from European civil society as well as EU institutions to discuss (dis)trust in government and institutios in the run-up to the 2024 European Parliament elections.

On Wednesday 28th June from 10:30 - 12:00 CET, Civil Society Europe will hold an online roundtable discussion, 'Tracing (Dis)Trust in the Run Up to the European Elections: Adult and Youth Attitudes towards Governments and #39;

The discussion will focus on the manifestation of political (dis)trust in youth and how this develops over time, with particular insights on youth (dis)trust in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic. The discussion will also focus on political (dis)trust in adulthood, with specific attention paid to country-specific variations, views on European integration and other

The roundtable takes place in the framework of the EnTrust research project which offers an innovative approach to understanding and addressing (dis)trust in governance, providing valuable insights and measures to support democratic societies in Europe. The roundtable discussion will include two presentations of exclusive preliminary research findings. Experts from EU institutions and civil society will provide commentary on the findings, sharing insights into the significance of trust in their respective fields of work. Other participants will be invited to intervene and ask questions to further enrich the discussion.
