EU Open Day 2023

European Commission Open Day on Saturday, 6 May

The 2023 European Year of Skills will give new momentum to lifelong learning, empowering people and companies to contribute to the green and digital transitions, supporting innovation and competitiveness. On Saturday 6 May we are opening our physical and virtual doors and demonstrating unity and solidarity with all Europeans.

In Brussels, you can visit the European Commission’s headquarters – the Berlaymont building – from to on 6 May to find out more about what we do*. Last entrance at No registration needed. Access is free.

Explore our villages and find out why Europe is fair, skilled, safe and strong, as well as what we are doing to show that #EUStandsWithUkraine. There will be plenty of games and activities for the whole family, with some prizes to be won. Take a peek at the top floor meeting room where President von der Leyen and the Commissioners make decisions that affect us all, admire the view over the city, visit the cinema room and much more.

Can’t make it in person? Then join in from wherever you are! Check out our live online events and map with what’s going on right across the EU to find something happening near you.

Even after Europe Day, if you come to Brussels don’t forget to visit our permanent exhibition Experience Europe, which provides a unique point of view on our work, priorities, policies and our EU values in an interactive environment.

*Please note that we will be photographing and making video recordings at this event. The photos and video recordings may be used for communication activities in relation to the EU Open Day. If you prefer not to be photographed or videoed, please request a lanyard at the stand at the entrance of the Commission building. For more information please see the privacy statement.
