The energy crisis is putting Europe under great pressure. Current developments are unprecedented in the history of both the single market in gas and electricity, and European institutions and member states have been pressed to act rapidly to contain the impact of the energy crunch, while calls for longer-term market reform have intensified.
On Tuesday 11 October between 14:00-17:00 CET, CERRE will host a public, hybrid workshop on the impact of the crisis on wholesale markets live from the University Foundation. This will be the opportunity for CERRE academics Catherine Banet, Nils-Henrik von der Fehr, Chloé Le Coq, Michael Pollitt and Bert Willems to present and discuss some of the findings from their latest issue paper on the topic, to be released as part of our ongoing research project on the future of market design.
We will then discuss, in two sessions, the economic, social and legal implications of the short-term intervention and medium-term reform proposals that have been put forward with representatives from regulatory bodies, industry and European institutions and agencies.
The event will be live-streamed on CERRE’s YouTube channel. Viewers will also have the chance to ask questions during the event, or via the comment sections on YouTube.
If you can’t join us live, then the event will be available to replay on the CERRE YouTube channel afterwards.
