Path to Net-Zero: Is Waste-To-Energy part of the Solution?

On Tuesday 21 June, CEWEP and ESWET organise an event to present the path taken by the Waste-to-Energy sector to get to Net-Zero.

Can Waste-to-Energy be part of the new sustainable world? Can the sector deliver on carbon emission savings or even removal? And what role will it play in a fully circular economy and climate neutral society?

The event will discuss the current climate contributions of the Waste-to-Energy sector and will present three projections for further reduction potentials achievable with the integration of Carbon Capture Use & Storage (CCUS).

new concept for a Waste-to-Energy facility will also be presented. A plant which is not only essential to treat the large fractions of non-recyclable waste generated by our society, but is able to combine multiple technologies together into a fully functional integrated resource recovery facility.

Finally, the necessary steps in policymaking, funding and enabling conditions will be addressed. The participants will also have an opportunity to discuss with experts that have first-hand experience implementing real-life CCU and CCS projects.
