Brexit and the Chemical Sector

Find out more about Brexit’s impact on the chemicals sector and what you need to do to stay compliant after 31 January 2020.

On 31 January 2020, the UK will leave the EU. This historic exit has far-reaching consequences, and the chemicals sector has not been spared. The EU chemicals legislation, which includes REACH, BPR and Food/Cosmetics, will – after the transition period – no longer apply to the UK market. You will have to prepare for changes if your business is in any way connected to comply with the REACH regulations or if your business is operating with the UK market.

At our event Brexit and the Chemical Sector on 3 March 2020 we will review the latest developments and provide guidance on all the areas of chemical regulation (REACH, Biocides, Cosmetics,) affected by Brexit. The focus of the morning session will be on REACH. We will start with a lecture on the consequences of Brexit for Only Representatives, followed by short presentations by industry, authorities and lawyers on Brexit’s impact on the REACH regulations. The morning session will end with a panel discussion. In the afternoon, our experts will assess the impacts on Biocides and Cosmetics and the practical customs implications for these products.
