Local campaigning and new media has led to innovative campaign strategies of political parties, candidates, and political organizations. Euraffex invites you to this Power Breakfast debate to dive into these issues together with elected representatives from the European Parliament, civil society, the European Commission and ;

The debate will aim to answer some of the following questions: 

• Have the 2019 elections boosted the legitimacy of the EU institutions?
• What are the preliminary consequences of this regained turnout on decision-making?
• Are we seeing a more assertive European citizenship so as to create more accountable European institutions?
• To what extent have new media streams in politics changed the way campaigns are run?
• What efforts have the EU done to engage its institutions and what needs to change?
