Are you dealing with cases of uncertainty? Do you have to assess or manage risks? Do you find that there is little consensus of what actually constitutes the risk you are confronted with or which risk to prioritise and at what point? Are you working within the EU’s ‘regulatory space’, for example an EU agency? Are you working within a think-tank, an NGO or the private sector? Is risk communication part of your portfolio?
In case you answer one or more questions with ‘yes’, then this course is for you.
Renowned academics and experienced professionals will shed light on these issues at the heart of the European Union, at Maastricht University Campus Brussels.
Items will be addressed across policy-fields and disciplines.
You will be examining these and other questions related to risk governance together with other professionals working on risks.
This course thus drives on interaction and knowledge transfer between participants themselves.
Participants will select one case to work on together as a team and devise a communication strategy.
This case can be a dossier that one of the participants is currently working on or one you worked on in the past or even a fictive case.
At the end of this ‘risk executive week’ you will then ‘pitch’ your risk-communication strategy to an audience of academics and professionals and receive input on your strategy.
