Participatory democracy: What alternatives to referenda?

This event is a follow up on our first conference entitled "Referenda: a good democratic tool?" that took place the 28th of February at ULB.

We have the pleasure to invite you to EU-Logos second conference on participative democracy, co-organised with the 1989 Generation Initiative and Students for Europe ULB.

Free attendance but online registration required:

This event is part of a cycle and based on our first conference that took place on the 28th of February and aimed at firstly exposing the benefits and limits of the referendum and thus triggering a debate between the speakers and the audience.

Its objective is to focus on the participatory democracy but rather than speaking about the referendum we'll try to propose new alternatives that could be implemented.
The format will be interactive, starting with a short conference of 30 minutes from four speakers (Georges-Louis Bouchez, Thibault Gaudin, Jonathan Moskovic et Elisa Lironi) and will be introduced by a young citizen from the 1989 Generation.

After this first session, 2 workshops will follow. The workshops will take place in two different rooms.
In order to make sure that everybody attends the two workshops, the speakers will be invited to switch rooms after 30 minutes.
