Cross-border Civil Litigation: Which Court is Competent to Hear the Case?

ObjectiveThe objective of this interactive seminar is to address various legal aspects of cross-border litigation in civil matters and explain the main European instrument in this field, the Brussels Ia Regulation, in a practice-oriented way.Key topicsJurisdiction in (consumer) contracts and tortsChoice of court agreementTaking of evidence and service of documentsMethodologyThis training event is conceived as a workshop based on solving case studies, thus ensuring the active involvement of participants and a continuous exchange of knowledge and best practice. The training materials have been developed by renowned EU experts and aim to aid legal practitioners in actively applying the EU acquis in the area of civil justice.CostsThis project is implemented with the financial support of the Civil Justice Programme of the European Union. Seminar fee including documentation: €275Accommodation: € 0Accommodation for two nights will be booked and covered by ERA.Catering: € 0Coffee breaks are included.
