This course will provide a detailed overview of the fundamental principles behind the main technological solutions to convert tidal stream ocean energy into electricity, along with the key methodologies to evaluate the tidal resource, site suitability and device performance and loading. In addition, hydrodynamic modelling techniques (both numerical and experimental), a review of the different leading concepts, the design of foundations and installation process and seabed infrastructure, and an account of the industry’s progress to full-scale deployment will also be covered. Who should attend?Project developers, device developers, lenders, marine contractors, network operators and regulators, R&D institutions, leading test centres and other professionals who wish to benefit from DNV GL’s technical and commercial knowledge of the field. DNV GL assumes that attendees have a basic engineering background. No specific knowledge of the sectors is required.
