EStALI Seminar 2014

The New Rules for the General Block Exemption Regulation (GBER)

With the proposed legislation, entering into force on 1 July 2014, the Commission considerably extends the GBER horizontally and vertically, covering a majority of measures that could in future be block exempted. Inter alia, natural disasters, innovation, culture and heritage conservation, broadband infrastructure and sports and multifunctional infrastructure. This will have significant implications for State aid control. The EStALI Seminar at Lake Starnberg (near Munich) will in-depth examine this new legal requirements and the main exempted categories and discuss the practical challenges of State aid control. As the number of participants is limited, participants will benefit from a maximum of exchange and discussion of their individual questions.
