A one day workshop that will allow you to:develop an understanding of some core statistical techniques practice application of some basic techniques become motivated in the application of statistics for business's improvement gain awareness of a Lean approach and its benefits explore opportunities for application within their work environments identify further statistical requirementsTRAINERS:Matthew Linsley: General Manager of ISRU, Matt joined the unit in 1999 after graduating from the School of Mathematics and Statistics with a Masters in Mathematics and Statistics. He has worked for business and industrial clients within the manufacturing, service and healthcare sectors, finding innovative solutions to practical problems. He has nearly 10 years experience in outreach including consultancy, organisation development, training, and placement student supervision. Dr Nigel Horan: Reader in Public Health Engineering. Academic background: Environmental engineering and microbiology applied to the problems of wastewater treatment of wastewaters and sludge handling. Particular expertise in: foaming, bulking and filamentous bacteria; nitrification and phosphorus removal; odour managment; sequencing batch reactor technology, and pathogen removal.
