The Local Renewables Freiburg 2014 Conference, taking place in Freiburg, Germany from 23 - 24 October 2014, will focus on how to shape a solar city and optimise local renewable energy potentials. In the current context of financial austerity, growing energy insecurity and resource scarcity local governments are called to act as drivers, moving towards smart cities and low-carbon economies to enable safe, secure and affordable energy in the long term.  The conference will examine the collaboration with local stakeholders, the value of technological innovations and how to identify sources of financing local action.
