Digital Environmental Journalism

The topic of the future, The technology of the future,The capital city of the future.

Our course is intended for staff journalists, media professionals and freelancers, as well as journalism graduates and students, interested in covering environmental topics.The training will allow participants to master theoretical knowledge and, at the same time, to gain practical tools, in order to build accurate and exciting stories.Our focus is on web-journalism, which means: data mining, creation of digital maps, interactive platform development and use of social networks, in order to communicate on the environment with the language of the new media. This will be done in close cooperation with the European Parliament.The course will concentrate on EU environmental policies and legislation which lately is becoming more relevant.Participants will have the opportunity to attend a session of the environmental committee of the European Parliament, and produce a segment in digital live reporting that will be posted on the online media partners of FreeReporter project.At the end of the course, participants will receive an attendance certificate, a final evaluation as well as interactive tutorials. They will be able to expand their experience through available internships at FreeReporter project.
