The Kufstein Winter School for Sports Management offers an engaging, challenging programme of lectures and workshops by topranking academics and representatives of international sports businesses, business, leisure and tourism management.Especially in traditional winter sports, many countries face a growing need to integrate citizens with a multicultural background into all sports activities in order to ascertain professional continuity. At the same time, the question arises as to whether winter sports create an awareness for the current issue of diversity and inclusion.For people with disabilities, be it mental or physical, sports may be a major enrichment for their daily lives, be it as a leisure activity or as a competition. The profile of both the Special Olympics (to be hosted in Schladming/Austria in 2017) and the Paralympics (to be hosted in Sochi 2014) is continuously growing. Winter Sports Events may well be an ideal platform for diversity and inclusion.The 5th Kufstein Winter School will discuss the complex issues of those challenges for Snow and Ice Sports Events and Destinations.Target group: Graduate students of sports and/or leisure management and students of business studies.
